Many years ago, when RNN Communications was first established, the agency committed to live and breathe its values. Our values include: team first always, innovation, creativity, working in partnership with clients and green living. Each of these values is incredibly important to how we do business, who we do business with and for each of the team members, how we live, our own personal responsibility to do as we say etc.
The team and I are fully onboard with our values and over the years, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to sustainability by launching RNN Green – a specific division that creates communications programmes for clients in the renewables sector such as Kingspan, Glen Dimplex, Action Renewables, SALIIS PV and many more.
Our journey commenced with the build of our eco-office back in 2013 and in 2015, the company was commended at the Action Renewables Awards for Best Energy Saving SME . Over the last few years, we’ve gone paperless, introduced reusable cups and water bottles for all, we’ve gifted clients with Keep Cups and reusable bottles, and last year, we went one step further by offsetting our carbon emissions.
Following years of education on the reduction of plastic, and the changing behaviours of brands, citizens, communities and us all, a global pandemic has taken over. With the need for more disposable PPE and other plastics greater than ever before, it’s now that we risk the huge strides that were made in the reduction of plastic over the last 5 – 10 years.
That’s why now, despite the fact that much of the world is in a state of flux, we’re pushing ahead with our commitments and have become the first PR & Communications Partner for the Responsible Plastic Management program. We can’t change many aspects of what’s going on in the world, but we can commit to reduce plastic consumption at every possible opportunity.
We’re proud to still live by our values, and to be joining an incredible line-up of other Partners in the Responsible Plastic Management program including Queen’s University, AllState, Graham Construction, Kainos, Belfast Harbour, Glandore, Carbery Group, Additude Creative and many more.
Together we’re commitment to reducing our reliance on plastic and encouraging others to do likewise.
Just like in all crises, there’s often a tendency to ‘bunker down’ - we see this time and time again in the PR & Comms world. But as it becomes more and more apparent that Covid-19 is here for some time, and just like our counsel for PR & Comms, it’s time to push ahead with our own businesses and goals; to focus on what we can control and do everything that we can to benefit others, our communities and our environment.
Named as ‘Outstanding Small Communications Agency of the Year’ at the 2019 CIPR PRide Awards, RNN Communications is a progressive, integrated communications agency, delivering work online and offline for clients in NI, ROI and beyond. www.RNNCommunications.com | @RNNComms @RNNGreen @RNNSocial
