Who, What & Where we're talking about this week...

 WHO?

Trump Triumphs

Love him or loath him, Donald Trump has been elected the 45th President of the United States of America.  On this historic day, we look back at what some of the top PR agencies have been up to - from running quirky campaigns poking fun at the candidates to ‘newsjacking’ the election for brand marketing.  One great campaign is the Trumping Ship – created by the agency Brooklyn Brothers – this idea stemmed from the notion that Americans will ‘jump ship’ if their candidate isn’t elected.

The website randomly selects a country, provides a quirky argument for why you should live there, and describes the difficulty of immigration. To top it off, it links to ticket prices for a one-way ticket on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017.

WHAT?

Mannequin Challenge

In case you've been banned from using social media for a few days, the Mannequin Challenge has become the “latest craze” to sweep the internet with James Corden, Adele, Destiny’s Child and even professional sportsmen joining in.

What is it… It’s the art of standing still.  No need to learn a new dance routine, just strike a hilarious action pose and become a moment frozen in time.

Branded the new ‘ice-bucket’ challenge, this craze started in American schools last month and has since gone viral and of course brands are getting involved - check it out by searching for #mannequinchallenge
