Who, What & Where we're talking about this week...
Yesterday was Queen Bey’s 36th birthday (and she doesn’t look a day over 24)! To celebrate ‘BeyDay’ some of her famous friends got together to pay homage to the iconic look from her ‘Formation’ video. Michelle Obama, Blue Ivy Carter and Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams are among those who got involved. Check out the whole gallery here…
Move over ‘hygge’, there’s a new scandi word in town…kalsarikännit.
Kalsarikännit – pronounced “karl-zar-ee-can-ee” – is defined as “The feeling when you are going to get drunk home alone in your underwear – with no intention of going out.”
It is the perfect word to drop into a Whatsapp conversation when someone asks you what your plans are for the evening. Particularly if you’ve had a bad day, all your friends are busy, and you’re treating yourself to a G&T in the comfort of your own flat.
The Tower of London
Do you own a ceramic poppy from the Tower of London? Well, now you can pin it on a digital map as part of a campaign (headed by 1418 NOW) to preserve the stories behind the 2014 installation, Blood Swept Land and Seas of Red.
The campaign, #wherearethepoppiesnow calls for people to share the location and story behind why or for whom the poppies were bought to help create the interactive map.
