What’s going on in the RNN world
LinkedIn has introduced something of a ‘match making’ service with a new feature that will help users seeking career advice to find a mentor that can share their wisdom.
LinkedIn members looking for career advice or guidance within a specific industry can tell LinkedIn the type of information they’re looking for, their preferences for a mentor (whether that is industry or location specific) and LinkedIn will make recommendations based on this information and match people with other LinkedIn members who have expertise, interest and experience to help. Much like a dating app, if you and your suggested mentor both think it is a good pairing, you will be able to connect and begin a conversation.
The feature is currently in the early testing phase and is only available in San Francisco and Australia, but it is hoped that the free service will be rolled out for all members in the coming months.
We think it’s a great idea, combining the networking opportunities that LinkedIn provides and helping people to progress their careers with the excitement of match making.
